Ticket sales for the much anticipated Athletix Grand Prix Series will open on Wednesday, 14 February 2018.
Launched by Athletics South Africa (ASA) at the end of 2017, the Athletix Grand Prix Series Track & Field Meetings will take place in Johannesburg (Thursday, 01 March 2018), Tshwane (Thursday, 08 March 2018) and Paarl (Thursday, 22 March 2018) and will boast an impressive prize incentive of R1 365 000.
Building up to the Commonwealth Games (8 – 15 April 2018 at Gold Coast, Australia), the Athletix Grand Prix will offer South Africa’s finest the ideal opportunity to hone their skills in a competitive environment as part of their global preparations.
“We are happy to announce the cost, dates and points of purchase of tickets for this much anticipated series which will also mark the start of the ASA 2018 Track and Field season.”
“The ticket prices were carefully considered to be affordable to all ages so that we allow as many fans as possible to access top class athletics in their own country. In turn the Athletix Grand Prix Series presents athletes with the ideal opportunity to put in those final touches before heading off to Australia and to other international engagements,” said Aleck Skhosana, the President of ASA.
“The Meetings will have a tight programme lasting for 90 minutes and is intended to attract top athletes from around the world to test their best performances in South Africa. Spectators can expect explosive action, back-to-back entertainment and Track & Field performances of the highest standard.”
